Here are a few photos of our house
Our property borders Buncomb and Madison counties and lies on the Ivy River, with long frontage. We built the house and moved in 9/11, an unforgettable date. Total sq. ft. is a little over 4000 on two levels, including a two car garage on the first level. The style of the house is 'modern custom' which means it's our design, very open with a large open room in the middle which includes kitchen, dining area, and living rm; with two wings featuring a bedroom in each at the ends. Both floors are identical in general layout, except the first level has one bedroom with full bath and the garage.

The house is passive solar, facing south so warm on sunny days in the winter without much auxilliary heat. The heat is provided by infloor heating. There are two air condition units, one on each floor.

The property is 22 plus acres with three tillable fields, one of which is currently farmed by an organic farmer (potatoes this year). The acreage is in two sections, 15+ and 6+, the house sitting on the 15 acre parcel; the extra 6 is a separate property that we bought to protect the main property. Aside from the field acreage, the property is woodsy and climbing. The 6 acres is restricted to one home (there's an excellent building site); it lies within an association.

River frontage is 2200 or so lineal feet.
